TL;DR
A sales funnel costs you in three places: tools (from £0 to a few hundred dollars a month), the build, and upkeep. One agency's 2026 estimate puts a simple done-for-you funnel at £2,500 to £6,000 and a full one with emails at £6,000 to £14,000, plus monthly fees. You can build a basic one yourself with free tools. Pay for help when the offer, the words or the follow-up are the hard part, which they usually are.
Why trust this page: I build funnels for small businesses, so I have an interest here, and I'll say where paying someone isn't worth it. Tool prices come from each maker's own pricing page in October 2026. The build figures come from an agency, which I've labelled, because nobody has published an independent UK survey.
What a done-for-you sales funnel includes
A sales funnel is the path from a stranger to a booked sales call. A done-for-you funnel means someone else builds every step and makes sure each one hands over to the next. A complete one has five parts:
- A landing page built around one offer for one kind of buyer, with one action to take.
- A lead magnet: a guide, checklist or calculator worth swapping an email address for, and the form that captures it.
- Follow-up emails: usually four to six, sent over a couple of weeks to people who aren't ready to talk yet.
- A booking step: a calendar link or embed, so a ready buyer can book without back-and-forth.
- Tracking: so you can see which step is losing people.
When you compare quotes, check which of these five are included. A cheap quote often covers the page and stops there, and the follow-up is where most small businesses lose the lead.
What a sales funnel costs in tools
Tools are usually the smallest cost. Prices below are from each maker's pricing page in October 2026. Most are in US dollars because that's how they're published, so the pound cost moves with the exchange rate.
- GoHighLevel (all-in-one: pages, email, CRM, booking): $97 a month for Starter or $297 for Unlimited. Phone calls, texts, emails and AI features are billed on top by usage.
- ClickFunnels (all-in-one, built around funnels): $97, $197 or $297 a month, or $81, $164 and $248 a month billed annually.
- MailerLite (email only): free up to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month, with paid plans starting at $12 a month.
- Cal.com (booking): free for one person, with team plans from $12 a user a month billed yearly.
So there are two ways to buy the tools. An all-in-one platform costs around $97 to $297 a month and keeps everything in one login. A stitched set-up uses the website you already have, a cheap email tool and a free booking link, and can cost close to nothing until your list grows. I compare the two biggest platforms in GoHighLevel vs HubSpot.
Building the funnel: four routes
The build is where the real money goes, because the hard part is the thinking: who the offer is for, what the page says, what the lead magnet promises and what each email does. Here are the four ways to get it built.
1. Do it yourself
The cash cost is the tools. The real cost is your time, often a few weekends for a first funnel, plus the risk that it works technically but nobody books, because the offer or the words aren't right.
2. A freelancer
Freelance rates vary too much for a reliable average. Most quote by the project or by the day. My marketing consultant cost guide covers UK day rates. Check whether the quote includes the copy and the emails, or only the build.
3. An agency project
One agency's published 2026 estimate for B2B firms in London sets out three tiers. It's one agency's view, so read it as a guide:
- Simple funnel: £2,500 to £6,000 to set up, plus £900 to £1,200 a month to manage. Landing pages, a form, booking and tracking.
- With lead magnet and emails: £6,000 to £14,000, plus £1,200 to £1,800 a month. Adds a gated download, four to six follow-up emails and calendar booking.
- With CRM and lead scoring: £14,000 to £30,000, plus £1,800 to £2,500 a month.
Ad spend is on top in every tier. Treat these as a rough sense of scale.
The subscription route
This is how I work, so weigh it accordingly. A full funnel (landing page, lead magnet, follow-up emails, booking and tracking) is a big build, included on my Growth Desk plan at £1,950 a month, month to month. Single parts, such as a landing page or a nurture sequence, are standard requests on any plan from £995 a month. You own everything I build. Examples of my funnel work are in the MN Online Coach and Aspire 1 Coaching case studies.

Running costs after launch
A funnel isn't finished on launch day. Budget for three things:
- Tool fees, which rise as your email list grows, and usage charges if you send texts or use AI features.
- Improvements: rewriting the headline, the lead magnet or an email once you see where people drop off. This is where most of the gains come from.
- Checks: making sure forms, emails and tracking still work after a website or tool update.
A worked example
Take a five-person B2B consultancy that wants more enquiries from its website. The funnel: a landing page for its main service, a one-page checklist as the lead magnet, five follow-up emails over two weeks, and a booking link.
- Tools: its existing website, MailerLite's free plan while the list is under 250, and Cal.com's free plan. About £0 a month to start.
- Agency route: the middle tier above, £6,000 to £14,000 to set up, plus £1,200 to £1,800 a month to manage.
- Subscription route: one month on Growth Desk at £1,950 while the funnel is built, then Foundations at £995 a month for improvements, or stop.
- DIY route: £0 in cash and several weekends of the owner's time.
This is my arithmetic on the prices above, for one realistic set-up. Your numbers will change with the size of the list and how much of the copy already exists.
What pushes the price up
Five things push a funnel's price up. Ask about each one when you compare quotes, because they're easy to leave out of a first estimate.
- More than one offer or audience, because each needs its own page and emails.
- Custom tools, such as a calculator or quiz, instead of a PDF.
- Connecting a CRM, scoring leads or routing them to different salespeople.
- Writing everything from scratch, with no existing case studies or proof to use.
- Running the ads that send traffic to the funnel, which is a separate job and budget.
DIY or pay someone?
Build it yourself if you have one clear offer, you're comfortable writing, and a free email tool and booking link will do. Pay for help when you've tried and nobody books, or when the funnel needs to feed a CRM your sales team uses.
In my experience, funnels that don't book calls usually have a weak offer or weak follow-up, and the build is the easy part. If you're not sure what to offer as a lead magnet, start there before you spend on tools.
Questions to ask before you buy
- Which of the five parts are included: page, lead magnet, emails, booking, tracking?
- Who writes the words, and how many rounds of changes are included?
- Which tools will it use, and what will they cost me each month?
- Do I own the pages, the emails and the contact list if we stop working together?
- What happens after launch? Who looks at the numbers and fixes the weak step?
The practical summary
A sales funnel for a small UK business can cost almost nothing in tools if you build it yourself, or from about £2,500 to £14,000 or more through an agency, plus monthly fees. The money is best spent on the offer, the words and the follow-up, because that's what turns visitors into booked calls. If you'd like it built and improved for you, see lead generation funnels, or read my guide to B2B lead generation first.
Fair questions
How much does a sales funnel cost in the UK?
A small business pays in three places: tools (from nothing to a few hundred dollars a month), the build, and upkeep. One agency's 2026 estimate for London B2B firms puts a simple done-for-you funnel at £2,500 to £6,000, rising to £6,000 to £14,000 with a lead magnet and follow-up emails, plus monthly management. On my subscription a full funnel is included on the £1,950-a-month plan.
What does a done-for-you sales funnel include?
Usually a landing page built around one offer, something worth swapping an email address for, a short series of follow-up emails, a way to book a call, and tracking that shows which step loses people. Check which of these a quote includes, because cheap quotes often cover the page and nothing after it.
How long does it take to build a sales funnel?
A single landing page takes a few days. A full funnel with a lead magnet, emails, booking and tracking usually takes two to four weeks, and most of that time goes on agreeing the offer and writing the words, not the build itself.
Do I need GoHighLevel or ClickFunnels to build a funnel?
No. They put everything in one place, from $97 a month each, which suits some businesses. Many small B2B firms do fine with their existing website, a free or cheap email tool and a free booking link. Choose the tools once you know the steps.
What does a sales funnel cost to run each month?
For a small list, the running cost can be close to nothing: MailerLite is free up to 250 subscribers and Cal.com is free for one person. All-in-one platforms start at $97 a month plus usage charges. The bigger cost is time: improving the page and emails as the numbers come in.
