An SEO consultant who gets you found on Google and in AI search.

I’m a freelance SEO consultant for UK small businesses. I fix what stops Google reading your site, find the searches your buyers actually make and write the pages that answer them, so you show up on Google and get named when someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini who to hire. One person doing the work, from £995 a month.

Free, 15 minutes, no pitch. I’ll search your business before we speak.

Sound familiar?

Signs your SEO isn’t working.

Buyers search you, or ask ChatGPT, and find someone else. SEO gets you found on Google. GEO gets you named when people ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini. Both come down to the same thing: clear pages that answer what your buyers actually ask, on a site search engines can read.

01

You don’t show up for your own service.

Search what you do plus your town. If it’s competitors and directories, you’re invisible.

02

AI tools don’t mention you.

Ask ChatGPT for the best firm like yours nearby. If you’re not in the answer, a growing share of buyers never hear of you.

03

Your details don’t match.

Different addresses and phone numbers across Google, LinkedIn and directories confuse search engines and buyers.

What done looks like

What good SEO looks like for a small business.

These are the four things I build towards and check every month. If one of them isn't true yet, that's where the next request goes, so you always know what has changed and why.

  • 01A list of the searches worth winning
  • 02Pages that answer them properly
  • 03A site search engines can read
  • 04A baseline, then a monthly check
How it works

How I work as your SEO consultant.

Six steps from first call to a monthly routine. The fixes come before the new pages, because new pages can’t rank on a site Google struggles to read.

  1. A 15-minute call

You tell me what you sell and who buys it. I search for you while we talk.

  2. Audit and AI baseline

Technical health, what you rank for now, and what ChatGPT and Google’s AI Overviews say about you.

  3. Keyword map

One buyer search per page, chosen by intent and how winnable it is.

  4. Fix the foundations

Indexing, speed, schema and listings, in order of what’s costing you most.

  5. Write the pages that sell

Service pages first, then articles that answer the questions buyers ask before they enquire.

  6. Measure and repeat

Search Console, enquiries by source and AI answers, checked every month, with the next fix chosen from what moved.

The jargon

SEO, AEO, GEO and LLM SEO in plain English.

Four names for overlapping jobs. Google says AI answers run on its normal search systems, so good SEO is still most of the work.

SEO
Search engine optimisation. Getting your pages ranked on Google and Bing for the searches buyers make.
AEO
Answer engine optimisation. Writing pages so the answer appears in featured snippets, People also ask and Google’s AI Overviews.
GEO
Generative engine optimisation. Getting your business named and linked when people ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini.
LLM SEO
Another name for GEO, from large language model. Same job: clear facts about you, on your site and on sites AI tools trust.

How much does an SEO consultant cost in the UK?

With me, SEO and GEO sit inside the monthly plans: articles, listing fixes, technical reviews and AI visibility checks are standard requests from £995 a month. A full SEO and GEO foundation is a big build, included on Growth Desk at £1,950 and Partner at £3,950. UK SEO consultants average £374 a day on YunoJuno, and Whito puts small-business agency retainers at £500 to £1,500 a month. If SEO is all you need, a specialist may cost less.

Straight answer

What I won’t promise.

I can’t guarantee rankings, a date or a mention in ChatGPT, and anyone who does is guessing. Listing and technical fixes can show within weeks; new pages usually take two to six months to settle. If you need enquiries this month, fix the website and follow-up first.

What does an SEO consultant do?

An SEO consultant finds out why a site isn’t getting search traffic that turns into enquiries, then fixes it: technical problems, keyword targeting, page structure, content and listings. With me, that now includes how you show up in AI answers too.

How much does an SEO consultant cost in the UK?

UK SEO consultants average £374 a day on YunoJuno, and Whito’s 2026 study of UK agency retainers puts small businesses at £500 to £1,500 a month. With me, SEO runs on monthly plans from £995, alongside anything else on your marketing list.

Freelance SEO consultant or SEO agency?

A freelance SEO consultant is one person who does the work you discuss, usually for less than an agency charges. An agency brings a bigger team, which suits large sites and crowded national markets. For a small business site, one experienced person is normally enough.

Can you guarantee rankings?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Google decides rankings, not me. I’ll show you what’s moving every month, what I changed and what I’d do next.

How long does SEO take?

Fixes to listings and technical problems can show within weeks. New pages usually take two to six months to settle.

Do you do AI SEO and GEO as well?

Yes, in every plan. ChatGPT and Google’s AI Overviews lean on the same foundations as Google search: clear pages that answer what buyers ask, and consistent facts about you on sites they trust.

Do I need llms.txt or special schema for AI search?

No. Google says AI Overviews need no special files or markup, so I don’t sell them. I add schema only where it helps Google read the page, such as your services and FAQs.

Do you work with businesses outside Suffolk?

Yes. I’m based in Ipswich and work with small businesses across the UK. SEO is done remotely, so you don’t need to be local.
